June 5th is Cancer Survivor’s Day! It is a day where the strength and stamina of many individuals are celebrated.
It should also be a time for awareness. A time to examine one’s lifestyle and a time to become aware of other situations.
Today, I am celebrating Heather, a 10 year mesothelioma cancer survivor. You can read more about her story here.
A general overview of mesothelioma and how it’s caused can be found here. A page with various mesothelioma and asbestos facts can be found here. Additionally, asbestos still has yet to be banned in the United States, and it’s still widely found in buildings built before the 1980’s…including homes and schools so information is still so important since avoiding exposure is the only way to prevent mesothelioma. Become more educated on this topic and spread awareness!
Today (and everyday), let’s come together to love and help each other.
Who are you celebrating?
