Hello! Welcome and thank you for stopping by the blog! My name is Stephanie. I have been blessed with two children who are the two loves of my life! They are in elementary school and keep me very busy.
Originally from the mid-west, the south was where I called home for the last 15 years. However, we recently moved to the Chicago area. I love yoga, learning and trying new things. I strive to live healthy and green (as realistically as I can) and would love to share with you what I have learned over the years; some of my favorite (and not so favorite) tips, tricks and shopping purchases to hopefully save you some money and to help you make the best choices for you and your family.
I believe it takes a village to raise little ones and would love share this crazy and wonderful adventure together!
Why “A to Z”?
Well, it encompasses everything! My vision for this blog is to share about all the topics I love and also to have guests write about things they love, too. Additionally, my daughter’s name starts with “A” and the last letter of our last name is “Z”.
My story:
I have always tried to eat healthy. However, ever since the birth of my youngest, meat didn’t sit very well with me. Soon after her birth, I read The Kind Diet and watched Food, Inc. Both started to change my thinking about food. I began researching and learning more about how food was produced; how animals were treated and how chemicals are in so many items we eat and have in our homes. I want to raise my children in a home as safe and toxic-free as possible.
However, I also try to be realistic. I have two children, a cat, a dog, a job, a side-business and a blog, which means I don’t have time to be making every meal from scratch or researching every little thing that comes into my home. I try to make the most informed decisions with the information at hand. I have also found several companies I trust from which we purchase many products. I feel so strongly about creating a safe, non-toxic environment for our children!
I also have two little children (one who is a picky-eater) and while I don’t mind eating lentils, veggies, and chia seeds for almost every meal, that won’t fly with my kids. As a result, I am so excited to share what I have learned with you on this blog! I would love to hear your feedback, too! Thank you and happy reading!
